چکیده
Using structured design te chniques b orrowe d from software programming, beginning circuit designers at the University of Cincinnati consistently cr eate correct, working chips c ontaining sever al thousand gates.Car eful choic e of topics and easy-to-use tools allow consider ation of physic al behavior and optimization techniques and also prepare students for more advanc edstudy of circuit design. Chip testing is accomplished with user-friendly softwar eand hardwar ecreated locally by a group of M.S. students. Initially targeting CMOS tiny chip designs, course materials have recently been modi e d for pr ogrammable lo gic devic es (PLD's). Imme diatetestability of PLD's provides better feedback, and the associated design tools supp ort high-level hardwar edescription languages (HDL's). This also makes multi-chip student pr ojects feasible.

Adaptive Distributed Consensus Control for a Class of Heterogeneous and Uncertain Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems
This paper has been devoted to the design of a distributed consensus control for a class of uncertain nonlinear multi-agent systems in the strict-feedback form. The communication between the agents has been described by a directed graph. Radial-basis function neural networks have been used for the approximation of the uncertain and heterogeneous dynamics of the followers as well as the effect o...
متن کاملA Compact DSP Performance Testing System for the Academia
The present article is a proposal for introducing a way of integrating several tools of electrical and computer engineering education, existent in academic institutions, to a compact and complete DSP performance testing environment, enabling CS/EE/CE students to gain experience in related fields through simply combining some of the existing hardware and software.
متن کاملIntegrating Concepts and Practice in Teaching Embedded Systems Design
3⁄4 The use of a family of low -power microcontrollers to teach embedded systems design to EE and CE students is presented. A review of aspec ts in the processor family is presented to support their selection as part of the target devices used in the course. Course organization details provide insight into the teaching strategy and sample projects illustrate the students’ learning experience. T...
متن کاملA WWW facilitated rapid system prototyping class
A Rapid System Prototyping course was developed in the Penn State EE Department under the auspices of our Electronics Manufacturing pilot project; this pilot project is described in a separate MSE’97 paper [l]. Our course emphasizes design methodology, techniques, and practical prototyping tradeo@ (design time cost speed power area) as applied to the entire electronic system design hierarchy (s...
